New Park of the Pines Group, November 20
Do you have kids that no longer attend church? Do you have friends that you used to go to camp and church with but not longer see them at church activities? Well here's a chance for you to invite them to reconnect with a church function that will be in a relaxed, enjoyable, no-guilt setting. The newly formed Park of the Pines Group is meant for these folks. This Saturday, November 20th we will host a brunch, some hanging out and a relaxed worship/discussion about the positive progressive things that the church is doing today. Please invite folks to come and join us from 10:00-2:00. If your family member/friends would feel better with you coming along (even though you may attend church regularly) that would be great!
If you know who will attend for sure let us know so we can plan on enough food.

Journey House Senior High Weekend, November 5-7
Our Senior High Weekend is an annual event that gives high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to visit Journey House, Michigan State University and East Lansing, and to receive personal tours and firsthand accounts from college students who are currently in the area.
This event is not only for high school students interested in attending MSU or any of the surrounding schools, but any student looking forward to attending college. Much of the knowledge and experience shared during the weekend will be invaluable to students wherever they chose to attend school.
Attached you will find an informative flyer to post in your congregation, as well as a copy of the registration form. Please feel free to duplicate and distribute either of these items as you feel necessary. Information and forms are also available on our website.
We are looking forward to a great experience this year and we’re very excited about offering this special weekend to the senior high in attendance! Communicating this unique opportunity to senior high youth is of great importance. We want all who are considering a college education in the greater Lansing area, or anywhere else, to be aware of this event. Thank you for assisting us in communicating this information throughout your congregation and your area.
Senior High Weekend is November 5-7, 2010 and the registration cost is $40. Space is limited, so we ask that registrations be sent by October 30, 2010. contact
October - Clergy Appreciation Month
Letter to Congregations
New Park of the Pines Group, October 24
All of us know many church members who no longer attend their local congregations. Some of these folks we may see occasionally at camps and reunions at Park of the Pines. Some, we simply never see. A group will begin meeting at the Park for worship, fellowship, and service that we hope will attract these individuals. Our hope is that a casual setting with informal worship and, of course, the beauty of Park of the Pines, will better meet the needs of those who are not attending their home congregations.
The first Park of the Pines Group meeting will be October 24 th . It will begin at 12:00 noon with lunch provided. We hope to have a small work project that we can complete on the grounds for those interested. We will end our day with an informal worship. Please invite individuals you may know that we don’t see every Sunday at church to come and enjoy this event. People can come for lunch and stay for the afternoon, just lunch, or just the afternoon. We want to make this a very relaxed and inviting experience.
If you know of folks who are planning to attend, please let us know so we can make an educated guess on the amount of food to prepare for lunch.
